Backend software engineer with hands-on experience building production APIs, real-time data pipelines, and AI-integrated systems. Comfortable in Python (Django, Flask) and Node.js (Express, TypeScript), with a focus on database design, cloud deployment, and distributed architecture. Currently contributing to SurveyTools, a survey research SaaS platform, where I own the KYC identity system, the gamification features, and the form integration layer for third-party platforms.

Backend Engineer (Contributor)
SurveyTools, Survey Research SaaS Platform  ·  Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB
  • Designed and built a 5-layer progressive KYC system for respondents and researchers: age-gated signup, OTP-verified phone binding, sensitive data collection, and researcher profiles for students, professionals, and corporate users.
  • Added AES-256-GCM field-level encryption for the sensitive KYC layers, NDPR-compliant consent management, and a right-to-erasure endpoint that anonymizes personal data while keeping aggregated analytics intact.
  • Built the form integration system for Typeform, Tally, and Google Forms, including HMAC-SHA256 webhook signature verification, OAuth2 token management, and a CSV snapshot importer.
  • Built survey data export in six formats (CSV, PDF, XLSX, JSON, PPTX, SPSS) and fixed a PPTX export bug that crashed the server in production.
  • Fixed bugs in the gamification engine and improved the daily spin wheel, missions, leaderboard snapshots, and admin economy control APIs.
Backend Engineer
NACOS OAU Official Website  ·  Node.js, TypeScript, Prisma, PostgreSQL
  • Part of the backend team building the official NACOS OAU platform, a production system for the whole computing student body at OAU. It handles dues payments, identity verification, content publishing, events, and admin governance.
  • Owned the blog, events, payments, and governance domains: schemas, state machines, repositories, and service layers in Node.js, TypeScript, and Prisma.
  • Built an idempotent payment webhook receiver with HMAC-SHA256 signature verification, automatic PDF receipts, and Cloudflare R2 storage.
  • Built the Blue Tick verification service, which resolves dues payment status in batched single queries across API responses and removes N+1 query patterns.
  • Helped set up the production deploy pipeline and nightly k6 load tests that enforce p(95) < 500ms on staging.
Lead Backend Engineer
ICE, Virtual Account & Payments Infrastructure Platform (Nomba Hackathon 2026)  ·  Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Led backend development for a virtual account payments platform built on the Nomba API, covering merchant onboarding, dedicated virtual accounts for vendors and customers, and invoice-based payment collection.
  • Built the reconciliation engine that handles exact, over, under, and duplicate payments, along with HMAC-SHA256 verification for inbound Nomba webhooks.
  • Added misdirected payment detection, an async BullMQ refund queue that looks up the bank account before each transfer, and a rule-based anomaly detection service that flags velocity spikes, duplicate senders, and dormant account activity.
  • Wrote Swagger/ReDoc API docs served straight from the backend and set up a nightly reconciliation cron job for transaction auditing.
Backend Engineer
Edge-IQ, AI Quant Intelligence Platform for Prediction Markets  ·  Django, DRF, Firestore, Celery, Redis
  • Built the entire backend for an AI-powered prediction market trading platform with Django 5.2 and DRF, deployed on Google Cloud Run.
  • Designed the quant models for Expected Value (EV) calculation, calibration scoring, and position sizing.
  • Built an AI signal pipeline that feeds live market data from the Bayse Markets API into Gemini to produce directional trading signals with confidence scores.
  • Used Celery, Redis, and django-celery-beat for market scanning, scheduled signal generation, and long-running backtests.
  • Used Firestore as the only persistence layer (firebase-admin) for a stateless, horizontally scalable design, with middleware that verifies Firebase Authentication ID tokens.
  • Generated API docs with drf-spectacular (Swagger UI and ReDoc).
Scrum Master & Backend Developer
Facial Recognition Attendance System  ·  SWEP 2025, Obafemi Awolowo University  ·  Django, OpenCV, Dlib, MediaPipe
  • Led backend development for a real-time facial recognition attendance system and moved the face detection pipeline from LBPH to Dlib for better accuracy and performance.
  • Synced attendance data to Google Drive in real time through the Google Drive API, and debugged backend modules so they stayed stable under live webcam processing loads.
  • Acted as Scrum Master: ran sprint planning, assigned tasks, reviewed code, and coordinated the team.
Creator & Lead Developer
Peacemaker, AI-Powered Semantic Merge Resolution Tool  ·  Node.js, IBM Bob Shell
  • Built a Node.js CLI for the lablab.ai IBM Bob Hackathon that replaces standard git merges with intent-aware conflict resolution, using IBM Bob Shell, the terminal agent from IBM Bob, IBM's AI-powered development assistant.
  • Designed a tier-based classification system that analyzes branch divergence and picks between a direct merge, an AI replay, or a diagnostic report. Added deterministic file seeding and three-way merge logic for overlapping files.
  • Used parallel processing to cut AI analysis wait times on complex merges.
Founder & Lead Backend Developer
Merit, University Admission Platform  ·  Flask, MySQL, Gemini API
  • Built and documented REST APIs for user management, aggregate score calculation, and admissions data, with schemas covering 10+ universities, their departmental cut-off marks, and admission modes.
  • Implemented POST UTME score prediction and course recommendations based on O-Level and UTME results.
  • Integrated the Google Gemini API into an admissions chatbot for student questions, and worked with frontend developers on the API integration.
Registrar
Nigeria Association of Computing Students (NACOS) Judicial Council | Obafemi Awolowo University
  • Handled official council correspondence and wrote the sessional progress reports. Kept communication in line with parliamentary protocol by routing it through the Clerk to the legislative house.
  • Merry Weather App: Django 4.2 weather dashboard using the OpenWeatherMap API, with Redis caching (12-hour TTL), health check and cache management endpoints, and a service layer that keeps API calls separate from presentation.
  • Simple Shell (collaborative): Unix shell in C that runs commands interactively and non-interactively, with built-ins, process handling, and low-level system calls.
  • Personal Blogging Platform: Express.js and PostgreSQL backend API with full CRUD.
  • .NET 9 Web API: Small CRUD API with PostgreSQL.
  • Python games: 2D Car Racing (Pygame, collaborative), Snake (OOP, event loop), and Tic Tac Toe with an unbeatable AI.
  • Google Developer Groups (GDG) OAU: Member; participant in the Build with AI Hackathon.
  • IBM Bob Hackathon (lablab.ai): Participant, May 2026.
  • Nomba Hackathon: Participant, 2026.
  • Certifications: Stanford Code in Place | ALX Software Engineering Program (12-Month Intensive) | Kibo School of Technology
